Embracing Lebanese Craftsmanship: The Journey of Jolia

Liana, the founder of Jolia, made a bold move to return to her homeland of Lebanon during the ongoing economic struggles. This move was guided by a strong desire to support local artisans who were having a tough time trying to get by. Yet, even with these hardships, Liana knew the true value of Lebanese craftsmanship. With this vision in mind Jolia was born, creating a timeless design all handmade to resonate with a global audience.

Supporting Local Artisans:

Local artisans remain dedicated no matter Lebanon’s circumstances, always resilient and fighting with determination. Liana was perceptive to the commitment to their craft, showcasing their immense talent despite the challenges. The unique allure that surrounds Lebanese craftsmanship hypnotizes us all, and because of this Liana wanted to use her skills and expertise to unveil the industry on a global sphere. Now more than ever, we spend our money with purpose. With the Lebanese economic crisis, purchasing habits have changed, it is not only about buying a product for its design or trendiness. It is also about shopping with a newfound purpose.

The Birth of Jolia:

Jolia was conceived as a labor of love, with the goal of connecting the globe to these local artisans. The trend of handmade fashion started following the pandemic, with many artisans advancing this hobby into a business. Taking into consideration the added element of the Lebanese economic crisis, many were unable to afford the staggering import and export costs of making mass-produced designs. As an alternative, artisans created beautiful fashion designs from raw materials that were derived from one’s own hands. Jolia emulated this concept with a timeless and classic design that exhibits the spark of classical Lebanese craftsmanship but with a modern take.

The Art of Jolia:

Jolia’s designs are meticulously crafted using beads and crochets employing a specific material based on the characterization of the client. The artisans’ attention to detail infused with the traditional techniques of Lebanese craftsmanship showcases a nostalgic feel to its designs. The design of the beads varies based on the client’s preference, with crystal beads showcasing a more luxurious feel to the designs, while acrylic beads are more lightweight and budget-friendly. Each design is based on the client’s character and what fits them best.

Embracing Tradition:

Jolia is distinct because of its unwavering commitment to its Lebanese roots. Instead of succumbing to fleeting trends, Jolia celebrates timelessness. By incorporating preservation and modernity into their products it has captured the essence of the country’s rich cultural heritage.
