APPLICATIONS FOR THE 2020 “L’ORÉAL-UNESCO FOR WOMEN IN SCIENCE” LEVANT REGIONAL YOUNG TALENTS PROGRAM ARE OPEN.
Beirut, Lebanon, 15 January 2020 – L’Oréal Levant, in partnership with the National Council for Scientific Research in Lebanon (CNRS-L), launches the 7th edition of the L’Oréal-UNESCO “For Women in Science” Levant regional Young Talents Program, in order to recognize, promote, and support promising young women scientists from the Levant region.
Women researchers coming from Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria and State of Palestine, have until 12 April 2020 to submit their applications through the online platform: www.fwis.fr.
Six exceptional women scientists will be selected by prominent scientists from around the region, all representative of excellence in their respective fields, chaired by the President of jury, Professor Mouin Hamzé, Secretary General of the National Council for Scientific Research in Lebanon (CNRS-L)
Three Fellowships of 10.000 € each, will be given out to 3 postdoctoral women researchers, and Three Fellowships of 6.000 € each will be given out to 3 PhD students.
To this day, over 3,200 greatly talented women have been distinguished by the L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science Program in 117 countries. By promoting and encouraging exceptional women scientists at different stages of their careers, the program is committed to improving the representation of women in science, and particularly in top decision-making positions.
