Abeer Saqer – CEO of Memorial International Patient Care Network

Abeer Saqer

Over the past 25 years, Abeer Saqer has established a bridge between Houston’s thriving medical community to the Middle East and beyond, making the city’s advancements in medicine accessible to people around the globe.

Abeer began her career at MD Anderson Cancer Center, where she established the first International Patient Center for service with focus on the Middle East. She promoted and organized MD Anderson’s first Oncology conference in Kuwait after the sandstorm with 22 top oncologists on board. With the support of Mayor Lee Brown, Abu Dhabi became Houston’s first Middle Eastern Sister City. Her successful partnership with UAE leadership resulted in a $150 million donation from the President of the United Arab Emirates, the largest donation ever given to an institution in the Texas Medical Center.

Today, located in Houston’s leading hospital network, Abeer is the CEO of Memorial International Patient Care Network where they manage the patients’ care from A-Z connecting them to dedicated physicians and specialists, assisting in the arrangement of treatment plans, and ultimately organizing personalized and proactive visits and care.

“My mission is not only to introduce patients to the best treatments, but to guide them towards a healthy and happy future.”

“My deepest commitment is to my patients. The road to health and recovery is not only about medicine, but embracing each day with positivity and strength. I treat clients as I would my family, always offering my support finding the latest possible treatment available in USA with time, compassion, and endless optimism.”

“Losing my mother to cancer as a child is a wound I’ll always carry in my heart, but my mother’s experience is the reason for my life’s work. I want to take care of patients the way I wished my mother was taken care of—with comfort in knowing that they will always have someone at their side, even when their family can’t be with them.”

As for Abeer’s personal qualities, she is a solution-oriented thinker with an entrepreneurial spirit and an unyielding compassion for others.

In the last few years, Abeer has expanded her reach through Social Media platforms such as Instagram, to better connect with patients overseas and import her medical knowledge. Through Instagram, Abeer has created a now popular live broadcast in which she conducts interviews with physicians and specialists from all regions of the US, answering questions from viewers to provide them with the medical information and understanding they need.

Since its establishment, her consultation services have been recognized and entrusted by government leaders, corporate executives, and renowned international dignitaries. They describe her as resourceful, trustworthy, always finding ways to align like-minded professionals and organizations to benefit everyone.

Abeer’s achievements in the medical field have been recognized by former president George W. Bush, and accounts of her contributions to Houston. She was also nominated by Manhattan Chamber of Commerce and received the 2017 International Women’s Entrepreneurial Challenge (IWEC) Award at the Microsoft headquarters in Seattle.
