Farah Zafar – UK Solicitor, Chief Legal Officer @ AMAALA, KSA
Known for her charismatic negotiation skills combined with finance, investment and legal expertise, Farah is a UK qualified solicitor (Supreme Court, England & Wales) with 22 years’ experience obtained from the UK and the GCC.
Farah Zafar is currently the Chief Legal Officer for the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia – Amaala. Her main responsibility is to establish the governance and regulatory framework required for new destinations in the Kingdom together with all supporting legal, governance, commercial and investment matters thereof. Farah is also a valued member of the Amaala Founding Board and is one of the first female Chiefs to sit on a board in the Public Investment Fund.
Moreover, Farah has led high profile transactions for and on behalf of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Government of Dubai, Government of Oman, Emirate of Ajman and has represented investment and quasi-government entities in the GCC region. She is particularly known for her charismatic negotiation skills combined with finance, investment and legal expertise that enable her to negotiate and structure complex transactions from inception to completion.
Previously the Head of Capital Transactions for Dubai Holding, Farah successfully secured over AED 11.3bn worth of inward project capital due to her ability to secure and structure local, foreign and institutional capital.
Prior roles include, Sole In-house Legal Counsel for the Engineers Office (private office of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum), Chief Legal Officer for Omniyat and Chief Legal Officer for Tanween.
