DANA MALAEB Fashion Designer Co Founder at Lemonade Fashion Founder of Maison Dana Malaeb

Dana Malaeb has always felt empowered by women who inspire change, women who face difficult circumstances whether they are battling cancer, an illness, facing society or identity hardships, they aspire strength and change to overcome them and they choose to make a difference.

Her inspiration came to fruition with her 2018/2019 F/W collection titled “Rise of Jean D’arc” which was launched on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 – 9 pm at Designers & Brands event by L.I.P.S. Management at Hilton Beirut Habtoor Grand Hotel, the biggest and only fashion event taking place in Beirut combining local and international designers and brands over 3 days with more than 25 fashion shows.

The design themes were related to Medieval warrior attire with cutting edge designs and thematic embroidery, especially that on the runway 3 women warrior opened the show:

  •  Maria Farah – a woman who battled Breast Cancer

  •  Tracey Massoud – a woman who has Lupus Disease

  •  Sasha Elijah – a transgender woman

All of whom walked the runway for acceptance, for change, and for a cause.

Her fashion show attracted a large audience, which included family and friends, public figures, socialites, media professionals, stylists and buyers. Her positive energy and ambition was evident backstage, on stage and through her designs. She asked the models to walk behind her in the show’s finale, as if they were an army, to further assert her theme.

Just as in every collection, she amazed her audience and left them in awe.

Dana began her career only five years ago and has already gained recognition and awards for her style and design, including the Beirut Young Fashion Designers Competition (BYFDC) during La Mode A Beyrouth by L.I.P.S. Management. Not only is she a fashion designer, but she is also a lead costume designer at Little Tree Films, and a fashion design teacher at a UN Funded school for underprivileged women and girls.

Her determination shows in her professional and social work. She participated in The Pink Party, which was held on October 14, 2018, by L.I.P.S. MANAGEMENT in collaboration with the Lebanese Breast Cancer Foundation (LBCF), where she donated a dress from her previous collection to help raise funds for the LBCF. Lebanese actress, Zeina Makki, eloquently wore the donated dress for the fashion show during the party.
