Aisha Al Mazmi is a 25 year old radio presenter for Pulse 95 Radio. She’s the youngest female Emirati radio presenter and newsreader ever to host on an English language station. Born and raised in the UAE, this inspirational woman graduated from the American University of Sharjah in 2015 and is currently working on her Masters in Communication from the University of Sharjah.
She is a testament to the talent emerging out of local academic hotspots and is encouraging her peers to achieve their goals.
“We want platforms to participate in and not just in Arabic. I’m in a minority as an Emirati working in English language media but I know there are so many others like me who want a chance. A good example of this is just to look at how many English language podcasts are being created by Emirati youth – we’re creating our own media so we have a voice” said Aisha Al Mazmi, Pulse 95 Radio presenter.
Aisha co-hosts the Afternoon Karak show on Pulse 95 Radio with Mikail Atiyeh which airs from 4-5pm on weekdays which covers popular culture, current affairs and youth interests.
Encouraged by her university professors and her father, Aisha applied for a role at Pulse 95 Radio upon hearing that a new English language radio station was launching in the Emirate under the umbrella of Sharjah Broadcasting Authority (SBA).
With the launch of Pulse 95 Radio she found a truly diverse environment where she could talk about matters relevant to her demographic.
