Dr. Maya Bou Khalil, PhD in clinical and pathological psychology and psychoanalyst, is a licensed clinical psychologist and a notable figure in the field. She is a member of the Lebanese Association for the Development of Psychoanalysis (ALDeP) and the International Psychoanalytical Association (IPA). Her research is particularly focused on trauma, its long-term effects and treatment. Her thesis project tackled the transmission of mentalization to the second generation after war and its impact on the personality of young adults.
This work underscores her deep interest in understanding how war trauma influences psychological development across generations.
Contributing to the initiation to psychoanalysis and the propagation of its concepts among young students, Dr. Maya is a part-time lecturer in different departments of Saint-Joseph University of Beirut (USJ).

Leadership and Multidisciplinary Approach at EVLOVE Center
Dr. Bou Khalil is also the co-founder and manager of the EVLOVE Center for Intervention, Training & Research in Dbayeh, Beirut. This multidisciplinary center provides a therapeutic space for individuals and families, offering services across various age groups including couples, parents, children, adolescents, and adults. The center is dedicated to continuous training and research, developing new therapeutic and evaluative tools to meet current societal needs. Dr. Bou Khalil’s role involves offering individual therapy, parental guidance, and group awareness in numerous institutions and schools; as well as conducting supervision, seminars, and workshops.
Advanced Training and International Engagement
Her professional development included comprehensive psychoanalytical training through ALDeP and IPA, as well as continuous education in Mentalization Based Therapy (MBT) at the Anna Freud Training Center in the UK. She has participated in various international seminars, workshops, and congresses, including those organized by the Congress of French Psychoanalysts (CPLF) and the European Psychoanalytical Federation (EPF), focusing on advancements in psychoanalysis and psychology.

Outside of her professional work, Dr. Bou Khalil enjoys writing and painting.
